With Sunflowers in full bloom, people are flocking to the country to take photos in locations where it is permitted. It can be such an enchanting experience to frolic thought the sunflowers. It is also a memorable interactive experience to share with friends and family. Sunflowers are one of my favorite locations take pictures. I would like to share some tips with you that will really bring out the best in your images. Any camera or phone will allow you to get some really great snapshots.

1.) Place your subject with the sun behind them. This will prevent harsh spots and squinting. You can crop the sun out if it is to high and too bright. Photography is all about good light, so this is important to getting better photos. The word photography means to write with light.
2.) Place the subject in front of the flowers. For small children, place them near smaller flowers or they will get lost. You don't want them competing with the main subject.

3. ) Get close to the subject and fill the frame. Anna is filling most of the frame, but we still see she is in the middle of a sunflower field without the flowers competing with her.

4.) Place your subject off to the side. In the image below, Anna is not directly in the middle as she is in the one above. Placing her off to the left (or right ) shows most of the flowers in the background while she is still the subject the image.
5.) Get the action! Try having your subject do something to avoid a static unnatural look. Looking back, smelling flowers, running, etc. Cameras work best in bright light for action shots.
